Terminal Screws

In today’s more sophisticated world of electrical distribution and controls, positive, consistently reliable electrical contacts are essential to product performance and safety. Our design, manufacturing and assembly capabilities provide virtually any type or combination of stamped terminations pre-assembled to a wide range of screws. Multiple washer assemblies are available to meet special termination needs. These washers can be flat and smooth or dished and ribbed. Dished or arched washers increase torque absorption and clamp load. A complete capability to engineer and develop a wide variety of Saddle Clamp Sems is also available to assure positives wire retention.

The Industry’s highest quality standards provide dimensionally controlled Terminal Sems for trouble-free automated assembly. Terminal Sems are available in all typical head styles and recesses, such as cheese heads, combination phillips/slotted, milled slots, etc. ST Sems are available for chip-free forming of threads in untapped holes.

JAM PROOF
In some products an annular ring, located on the screw shank just below the clamping plate, helps to prevent jamming of screw threads by separating the clamping plate from the threads. This annular ring also lifts the clamping plate straight up when the screw is loosened, allowing for a smooth release of the wire.

UL RATED
Single washer terminal screws are tested for Underwriters Laboratories torque, secureness, and pullout tests under the provisions of UL standard #486. This standard requires that all sizes of screws be able to clamp wires of sizes 8AWG through 18AWG with a minimum of 20 inch-pounds of torque.
